Here's the Scoop, Y'all

Your questions, answered.

Abstract Line Pattern

What insurances do you accept? We are currently working to get in-network with most Commercial  Insurance plans as well as Mississippi Medicaid. We plan to accept: Cigna - Blue Cross Blue Shield - Aetna - Mississippi Medicaid - UnitedHealth Care - Meritain - Optum - UBH - UMR - Ambetter - MedBen & BMHG plans starting out. Ultimately, we hope to be in-network with as many insurances as possible.

I don’t have insurance. How much can I expect to pay? Please visit our “Service Fees” page for up-to-date fees of all services provided.

You do not accept my insurance, what can I do? Many insurance plans will reimburse you up to 50% of your upfront costs using your out-of-network benefits. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider. Our private-pay fees are listed under the "Service Fees" tab.

Can you help me with the disability process? At Front Porch Psychiatry, we are happy to help those who we feel may qualify for disability benefits. However, you are required to be under the care of this clinic for a minimum of 12 months before we can start this process with you. This ensures the provider has enough information about your current and future functionality to create an accurate assessment on your behalf. Participation in the disability process is at the sole discretion of the provider. Not all patients will qualify for disability services.

What services do you provide?  Our Practitioner has extensive education and training in the fields of medication management, genetics consultations, ADHD evaluations and basic counseling. Specialties include:   Major Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorders,Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Post-Partum Depression, Trauma-Related Disorders, Difficulties with Anger Management, Problem Solving and Time Management, Bipolar Spectrum Disorders,  Disordered Eating Patterns, Parenting Skills, Budgeting & Impulse Control in ADHD.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA/FSA/HRA) account? Absolutely!! If you choose to use your HSA, you will be given a receipt on the day of services. This can be written off on your taxes later as a qualifying medical expense. We all love a tax write-off!

What forms of payment do you accept?  We accept cash and debit/credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. As a preferred client at FPP, you’ll need to keep a card on file. This is standard practice at most clinics. Your card will be used to cover any service fees, such as co-pays or coinsurance, at the time of your appointment. You can update or change your card information anytime.

Do you treat children?  We absolutely love working with children! At Front Porch Psychiatry, we specialize in medication services for kids aged 5 and older. Because younger children require extra-special care and safety precautions when it comes to medication management, we’re unable to prescribe medication for those under 5. However, we’d be delighted to see photos of your little ones under 5 & they’re always welcome to tag along!

Do you offer telehealth services?  Telehealth services are available for patients who do not currently take controlled substances and who reside within the state of Mississippi. For those prescribed controlled substances, such as stimulant medications or benzodiazepines, federal law requires in-person visits at our office. Thanks for understanding!

Do you prescribe controlled substances?  Controlled substances are prescribed only in moderation and on a case-by-case basis. Applicable restrictions apply. We strictly adhere to the laws and regulations established by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy, and the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

What are your office hours?  Monday - Thursday 8am – 5pm  CLOSED ON FRIDAYS We are also closed on weekends and all major holidays.

How can I become a new patient?  Simply click the “New Patient Appointment” at the top of the screen and complete the information section. Once submitted, one of our staff will contact you in the next 48 hours to schedule your appointment on your preferred day. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.

What happens if I am late to my appointment?  Did you lock your keys in the car? Was traffic a total nightmare? Family emergency? Hey, life happens, we totally get it. That’s why we offer a 10-minute grace period for all appointments. Just a heads-up: if you arrive after that window, we’ll need to reschedule your appointment and a no-show fee will apply before booking again. We do this out of respect for the next person on the schedule. Our staff works diligently to ensure you are seen at your scheduled appointment time, because nobody likes to be left waiting, right?

What is your policy for missing my appointment?  There is a $75 fee if you fail to cancel your appointment the day before. This fee must be paid before you are able to reschedule your next appointment or receive medication refills. We have many people waiting for an appointment spot to open. If we know ahead of time you are not going to be able to make your appointment, someone else may be able to receive the care they need today. Moral of the story: always cancel if you can’t be here.

Do I have to take a drug screen to be a patient? All patients ages 16 and up are subject to urine drug screening on admission and intermittently afterwards, depending on your plan of care. Our Practitioner reserves the right to issue random drugs screens as well, to ensure medication compliance. The state of Mississippi requires each patient participating in a drug screen to also have a confirmation. This is performed by our lab. The cost of the point-of-care drug screen is $25 and must be performed 2 - 4 times per year, depending on your medication regimen.

How do I contact my Provider? Because our providers are in clinic with other clients during the day, it can be very difficult to stop those sessions to make and return phone calls. Because of this, we kindly ask you email us for all questions and inquiries less urgent. Our email address is located at the bottom on the webpage. Your provider will reply to your email within 48 hours. This does not include weekends or holidays. For truly urgent matters, please call the office directly at 662-205-0845

What should I bring to my first appointment? Driver's license (or parent license for minors under 18) Copy of insurance card List of all current and previous medications Any pertinent psychiatric records or psychological testing results
